Good Ol' Fashion Nightmare

Emily loves creepy things.  Scary things.  Weird things.  We decided to embrace this awesomeness through makeup.  She told me what colors she wanted on her face and I just drew and blended whatever popped into my head.  What I love most about Emily is that she's not afraid to be herself.  She takes whatever she sees in her mind (or in this case the mirror) and completely makes it come to life.  So, take a look at these creepy creatures and have a happy belated Halloween!

Om Nashi Me

I'd like you all the meet my little cousin Emily.  I've been living with her since I moved Florida and she has become more like a little sister to me than a cousin.  Emily is seven and is easily one of the most creative people I know.  She likes swimming, drawing, playing with bugs, and dinosaurs.  Her favorite color is pink and she will devour anything that has sugar in it.

When I came home from work yesterday, she was running around in her underwear and had  pieces of paper taped all over her body.  She was pretending that she was a grasshopper.  How could I possibly not pull out my camera?  For the rest of the afternoon I decided to follow her around and document everything she got into.  There's never a dull moment with her, that's for sure.  So take a look into Emily's world and stay posted for more exciting adventures.

5 Minutes!

Today in class, James gave us another lovely assignment.  We had to shoot inside as well as outside.  We could only use 1 light, 1 fill card, 1 scrim, and 1 gobo.  We had to create as many different looks we could think of in 5 minutes for each setting.  Special thanks to Caroline for being my lovely model and Cara for being my amazing assistant.  Here are some of my shots...let me know what you think!

“If you surrendered to the air, you could ride it.”

Our latest assignment in our advertising class was to create an image that represented air.  We had to show "air" in a positive, green, environmentally way.  We also had to follow the quote “If you surrendered to the air, you could ride it.”  I decided to shoot one of my swimmers running with bubbles. Special thanks to Natalie for being such a wonderful model!  Here's my shot, let me know what you think!

Layla

Some friends asked me to do a photo shoot of them and their new addition to the family, Layla.  I couldn't have asked for a better baby to photograph for the first time.  She's so sweet!

Self Promo #1

I shot, my best friend, Jessica Thompson for one of my self promotional projects.  I had a great time with her and Reddy (the horse) at the barn on Sunday.  Here's the final picture.
